In 2015, the Franco-Brazilian Workshop for Urban Water will take place on 12 and 13 March in Paris and will be co-organized by LEESU and by the urban agriculture laboratory team SAD-APT AgroParisTech. The chosen topic will be the interaction between Water and Nature in the city. It is of main concern for both countries because it deals on the place of nature within the sustainable city. The results of research undertaken on this subject in both countries will be presented during these days.

The provisional program includes three half-days conference and a technical tour half day. One of the topics will focus on the interactions between agriculture and urban hydrology. It will trade on the practices of urban agriculture and its interaction with water in the two countries.

In an open concern for participants from diverse backgrounds, this workshop does not result in registration fee but registration on the site is required.

The Franco-Brazilian workshop in urban hydrology  has been organized for about ten years in France and Brazil, by the LEESU, joint laboratory of the Ecole des Ponts ParisTech,UPEC and AgroParisTech in partnership with Brazilian universities. This workshop is designed for scientists and managers of urban water.

The objective is to discuss scientific issues in urban hydrology of the two countries focusing on their similarities and their differences, given the geographical and urban settings and to prepare joint research projects (eg, rainwater harvesting, stormwater impact on aquatic environments, ...).

The last edition in France, held in March 2010 in Paris, focused on the monitoring and management of pollutants from urban discharges during wet weather. The workshop, which brought together forty people including 7 Brazilians, took place over three days: two days of communications and a day of technical visit.
